It looks like Ligue 1 Giants Marseille have accepted Newcastle's offer for Florian Thauvin as this deal see's Remy Cabella go on other side for a temporary period.
Thauvin, 22, has long been on Newcastle's radar and contact was first made earlier this summer, but the Ligue 1 club had been reluctant to entertain their approaches.
But, the deal now seems on verge of end with French International Cabella now offered for a year with addition of £ 12 Million.
Cabella have had tough times in England after joining The Megapies Last Summer, but while the club's hierarchy do not want to lose him - indeed they hope he still has a future at St James' Park - they are willing to let him leave on loan in order to land Thauvin.
As per the reports, Newcastle firstly offered Sylvain Marveaux and Gabriel Obertan but The French's were only interested getting Cabella.
Newcastle, who see Thauvin as the ideal man to fill their problematic left midfield role, are hopeful he could be in England within the next 48 hours and may even be fully registered ahead of their weekend clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
A source confirmed: "It is nearly done and this is a huge boost as it is player the club have been chasing for a long time."
