The match started with Rohit Sharma the captain of the Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first.
The Mumbai Indians got a perfect start by the West Indian opener Lendl Simmons. He scored to a very nice 50 to boost the score. He was given the start by the opener Parthiv Patel. They both scored a handful runs. After the wicket of Parthiv Patel wickets kept on flowing back in the pavillion. Unmukt Chand the player who plays very good cricket went fail again in the match. Rohit Sharma played some handful shots but later lost his wicket. Kieron Pollard played a key role in the play. Their lower order and the tail lenders went fail. In the end they ended with 157 runs. In the bowling they were impressive as Mitchell McClenaghan & Lasith Malinga took crucial wickets at crucial time. There was a good effort in the bowling in this match.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad were very good in bowling the death overs. They didn't allow much runs in the death overs. Their openers Shikhar Dhawan & David Warner accelerated the score. Shikhar Dhawan was playing aggressively which helped them to score well. But after the wicket of the captain David Warner the team started losing their wickets one by one. In the bowling the impression was made by Dale Steyn, Karn Sharma and company. They didn't do well in the batting but did impressive role in the bowling. But as they bowled first and had to chase the target they couldn't won the match.
