After the first match that was drawn bot England and West Indies would be thinking of winning the next match. They both are good sides but to beat England in their backyard in a Test match is very tough. Both the teams deserved a win in the 1st match but draw was an ideal result.
1st Innings :
West Indies came out to bat first. They did not start well. Lost their openers early. They did not have a good partnership going. They lost wickets at continuous intervals. They never got a good partnership going. They kept on loosing wickets. Their batsmen gave away wickets as a gift. A big disappointment was Chanderpaul who gave away his wicket as a gift to the opposition. On Samuels looked good and went on playing. He kept loosing partners at the other end. The West Indies lost their 5 wickets on day 1 for just 188 runs.
The pick of their batsmen was Marol Samuels is still on the crease & till now has played an outstanding knock of 94*(186) balls with 13 boundaries to his name.
England bowled superbly. They never let the opposition go away and kept the pressure on them. They bowled superb line and lengths and got the wickets. They have been superb in their bowling.
