The victory was fixed for the Aussies after making 418 total and a massive target for the Afghan team.
Australian team started of well with David Warner attacking, but lost Aaron Finch early. It was Steve Smith who gave a very important stand to the opener Warner. Warner scored a wonderfull 178 runs off 133 balls which helped the team to score well enough for a compactable win. Smith was playing well and scored a good score of 95 but soon he was dismissed. Maxi the demon player for the Aussies scored a well 88 of 39 balls with raining boundaries and sixes which totalled up the score well. The notable contribution of these batsmen helped to score 418 the highest in world cup. And Warner was also the highest run scorer in World Cup from the Australian side. In the bowling it was Mitch Johnson who took 4 wickets and shattered the innings of the Afghan team.
The Afghan did a good job of sending Finch back to pavillion early. But then the they couldnt manage to take more wickets soon. They came in to attack in the 43 over from then they took wickets. The bowler who was sucessfull was Shahpoor Zadran & Dawlat Zadran who took 2-2 wickets each. They were not at all impressive in the batting. they were all out for the run score of 142 only in 37.3 overs. Nawroz Mangal was the only one to make 33 the highest run scorer for the team in this match. So they need to work hard after this match.
Man of the Match is David Warner for his notable contribution of 178 off 133 balls for the team
