San Marino vs England - Preview

Venue : San Marino Stadium
Date : 5th September
Time : 5:00 PM GMT

England travel to San Marino this weekend looking to continue their unbeaten run in the Euro Qualifiers. If Roy Hodgson's men go on to win they will qualify for the Euro 2016 with three games still left to be played. The match on Saturday could see Rooney becoming England's all-time high goal scorer surpassing Sir Bobby Charlton.

San Marino have only claimed one point in their six games, losing 5 and drawing 1. They are currently ranked 193rd in the world and considering the fact they have been problems at the back it might be just be an easy three points for England. San Marino's chances of qualifying seem to be over, they need maximum points in their final four games in order to stand a chance of qualifying for the Euro Cup.

Key Players

          Harry Kane

He's been out of form recently scoring only one international goal and hasn't been able to find the back of the net at Tottenham this season. But this might just be the game where he could add to his tally of international goals facing the Minnows.

When asked about himself he said "I don't think last year was lucky. I worked very hard to get where I was.As a striker you always go through spells when you're on fire and sometimes it doesn't go your way, but I'm full of self-belief that I've got goals in me.My start to the season has been OK. It could have been better. I would like to have scored by now but football doesn't always work like that."

Andy Selva

The 39 year old is San Marino's leading all-time scorer and if San Marino are to cause problems for England one would expect Selva to do it.

Team News

Both the teams are fit and in good health, Roy Hodgson has named some youngsters in the squad one of them being Jonjo Shelvey but he will most likely be on the bench other than that the England manager will be looking to make full use of his attacking options by using Rooney, Kane and Sterling.
