Records in the IPL format so far


The IPL edition of cricket have become like a festival for the Indians. They are always waiting for it to start. It started in the year 2008 from that day it created various records. There were some records which are broken & some are not

The list of the records are as follows:-

1. Highest team total :-
   263-5 by Royal Challengers Banglore against Pune Warriors India on 23rd April 2013.

2. Lowest team total :-
    58-10 by Rajasthan Royals against Royal Challengers Banglore on 18th April 2009.

3. Most extras in an innings :-
    28 extras by Deccan Chargers against Kolkata Knight Riders on 20th April 2008.

4. Most runs by a player in all seasons :-
   Suresh Raina ( Chennai Super Kings ) 3325 runs in 111 innings with average of 35.75 & a        strike rate 142.03 including    a single ton & 23 half tons

5. Highest score by an individual :- 
    Chris Gayle (Royal Challengers Banglore )175 off 66 balls against Pune Warriors India on         23rd April 2013 with a strike rate     265.15 which included 17 sixes & 13 fours.

6. Highest average :-
    David Miller (KXIP) average of 48.10 in 34 matches.

7. Highest strike rate :-
    Glenn Maxwell (KXIP) strike rate of 178.91 in 21 matches.

8. Most sixes by any player :-

     Chris Gayle 192 sixes

9. Most fours by any player :-

    Gautam Gambhir 327 fours

10. Most Wickets :-
      Lasith Malinga 119 wickets

11. Best Bowling figures in an inning :-
      Sohail Tanvir(Rajasthan Royals) 6-14 in 4 overs vs Chennai Super Kings on 4th May 2008. 

12. Best economy rate :-
       Sunil Narine( Kolkata Knight Riders) 5.77 

13. Most runs conceded by any bowler in a single inning:-
     Ishant Sharma (SRH) 66 runs in 4 overs against CSK on 8th May 2013 

14. Most dismissals :-
      Adam Gilchrist ( KXIP & DC) 67 dismissals, 51 catches & 16 stumpings in 80 innings

15. Most catches by a player :-
     Suresh Raina ( CSK ) 64 catches in 115 matches.

16. Most matches played by a player :-
     Suresh Raina ( CSK ) 115 matches
