Preview : Tottenham vs Manchester City

Tottenham will view Saturday's fixture against City as an opportunity to rebound from their undesirable 2-1 loss at the hands of their most fierce rival Arsenal.

It is one thing to get knocked out of the league cup and it's quite another to get knocked out by your arch rival. It was surely a dreadful night for Tottenham on Wednesday and it will require a substantial effort for the Lilywhites to alleviate themselves on Saturday.

Spurs are facing a team that have been in top flight of late. City won 5 games in a row in the premier league before losing to West Ham last weekend. Manchester City's loss to West Ham was quite a setback given their previous triumphs and form but they recovered well by defeating Sunderland 4-1 in the league cup.

Manchester City will be the favourites in this game given their recent performances and results. Clearly, the team that is more consistent is Manchester City taking into consideration that they have displayed impressive performances repeatedly. Also, with the likes of certain players such as Sergio Aguero who is yet to score this season and new entrants Raheem Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne, Manuel Pellegrini has been successful in developing a side that are very much capable of challenging for the title.

As compared to Pellegrini's side, Tottenham have not been as successful in getting goals given that Harry Kane has failed to find the back of net. Kane hasn't been able to find the same form that he was in last season but the misfiring forward has insisted that the goals will come. Tottenham's new signing, Son Heung-min was the only person who scored in their victory over Crystal Palace last week. The Korean is a great addition to the team and their season looks notably polished than it did earlier.
