Preview : Arsenal vs Olympiacos

A confident Arsenal will host Olympiakos hoping to register their first champions league win. The Gunners opened their champions league group stages in an upsetting manner by losing 2-1 to Dinamo Zagreb.

Arsene Wenger's men should be optimistic going into this game after defeating Leicester 5-2 away. It was a great away win for the side and the overall team performance was clearly visible. Arsenal managed to overcome Leicester with the help of Alexis Sanchez who stood out as the top scorer with a hat-trick with contributions from Walcott and Giroud each bagging one goal. Arsenal are currently placed fourth in the premier league with 13 points from six fixtures.

Olympiacos's domestic campaign has been excellent as they are yet to be beaten with a 100% win record in the Greek Super League claiming fifteen points from five fixtures. Their start to the champions league group stages was also disappointing after going down 3-0 at home to Bayern Munich and they too will be desperate to kick-start their champions league campaign in the same manner as Arsenal on their trip to London.

What Wenger had to say

"We want to do well in the Champions League and when you’re a big club you have to face that and deal with it.
"I don’t know if other teams look at [English clubs] with more or less fear. I believe that the Premier League is very, very tough. Is that an influence or not? I don’t know but it’s a bit early to come to any conclusions.
"We have to wait a little bit longer. A second year without [English clubs] being successful and you could come to a conclusion of, ‘Yes, there’s something we have to analyse deeply’, but I don’t believe so at the moment.
"You cannot say [English clubs] are at that level [of the past] now because in the last two years Barcelona and Real Madrid have won the Champions League. We have to say they were the better teams. Are we far away? I don’t think so but we have to show that with our performance."

Team News
For Arsenal, midfielder Coquelin is back in training after knee injury as confirmed by Wenger and whether he'll feature or not is unsure. Flamini and Arteta both have slight muscular problems and they will most likely miss out on this fixture. Giroud will be absent through suspension due to his sending off in Zagreb. Gabriel is also back after serving domestic suspension.
Olympiacos will be boosted by the return of Manuel de Costa from injury. Brown Ideye who signed from West Brom in the summer is a part of the squad, he is eager to return to England and is looking forward to take on Arsenal. His playing opportunities at West Brom were limited but he hopes to feature against Arsenal as he missed both fixtures with Arsenal last season during his time at West Brom.
