Chelsea's new recruit Pedro admits that his 'good friend' Cesc Fabrigas played a
key role in helping him to join Chelsea.
The Stamford Bridge side pooped into the market to recover from their Worst Season Start in Seventeen Years as they signed the 28-year old Spain forward on a four year deal on Thursday. Pedro ,who cost £21.4m including add ons ,trained immediately with his new team mates and could make his debut against West Bromwich Albion on sunday.
He said he decided to move to west London after a potential move to Manchester United fell through after talking with boss José Mourinho and old friend Fabregas , who swapped Barca for Chelsea in 2014.
Pedro told the club's website:
" He (Mourinho) is one of the main reason why I'm here. He phoned me a few times and said he needed me to make the team stringer.
"He has won titles wherever he has been. I am really looking forward to playing under him and hopefully winning more titles.
" I spoke to Cesc. We are very good friends. I knew I would feel at home here and that was one of the main reason why I decided to join.
"I am ready to start playing straight away if the manager selects me I am in very good shape because I have already played for Barcelona this season. It's a new challenge and I can't wait to get going."
