Manchester City vs Watford - Preview / Team News / Expected Line-up

Venue: Etihad Stadium
Date: 29th August
Time: 15:00 GMT

Manchester City have won all the 3 games that they have played so far and they look to continue their unbeaten run going into Saturday's game where they will host newly promoted Watford. The hornets too haven't been beaten but haven't won either, drawing all 3 games. Pellegrini's side are clearly the favourites in this game, they are in top form beating West Brom, Chelsea and Everton in their opening 3 games and keeping three clean sheets. They will be looking to dominate every minute of the game and cause trouble for the new entrants but one can expect Watford to put up a good fight as their confidence will be high going in to this game considering the fact that they have made a solid start to their campaign in their own way.

"I think it's about confidence" said Watford boss Flores when he was asked about the fixture on saturday. "It's very difficult to play against this kind of team that has a lot of players that can make a difference."

"In this case we need to be confident and try to keep the style we've managed since the beginning of the competition"

He also added "We have reason to be confident and happy because it's not easy to start in any competition at a new level. The idea is to be competitive against these kinds of these teams."

Key Players

Strikers Troy Deeney and Fernando Forestieri are two players to watch out for on Saturday.
They are known for giving city a real scare when Watford went to Etihad in the FA Cup in January 2014. The two strikers fired Watford into a 2-0 lead which could've resulted in a shock defeat for City if not for Aguero's hat-trick that secured City a 4-2 victory.

Team News

Manchester City will most likely continue with the same unbeaten squad as they have a full-strength team with only Pablo Zabaleta (knee) sidelined.

Uruguayan defender Miguel Britos will not feature as he saw red in Watford's Capital one cup defeat to Preston. Joel Ekstrand (knee) will remain on the bench, other than that Watford boss Flores will be able to choose from a fully functional squad.

Watford
