After regaining the Ashes from Australia in the 4th Test England would be looking to win the last match as well. Australia would be wanting to win the last and the farewell Test match for their great cricketer Michael Clarke and Chris Rogers.
1st Innings:
England won the toss and put Australia into bat first.
Auatralian batsmen were put under pressure at the start but then could score easy runs. The was a good opening stand until Rogers got out. Then there was a nice little partnership between Smith and Warner. Clarke got out early but Smith is still on the crease along with Voges. Smith is looking for a big century after a bad patch till this match.
The pick of their batsmen was David Warner who scored 85(131) balls with 11 boundaries to his name.
England bowlers bowled well at the start but lost momentum in between. They got wickets in the middle but could do too much of damage.
The pick of their bowlers was Mark Wood with bowling figures of 18-5-41-1.
