England were in a great position when they ended day 3. They had a good lead and Root playing well.
1st Innings.
The England batsmen batted well and put the pressure on the West Indies bowlers. They played well and did not play false shots. They might have lost some wickets but they rebuild the innings. A great knock from Joe Root took them to a big score. There were contributions from the top but the stand out player was Joe Root who hit a wonderful and most needed century for the team.
If he would have had someone at other end then the score could have gone to a big one. He did not have many partners.
The pick of their batsmen was Joe Root for his sensational century. He scored 182*(229) balls with 17 boundaries and 4 sixes to his name.
West Indies bowlers came back strong and bowled well to the middle and lower order and bowled them out early. They bowled good line and lengths.
The pick of their bowlers was Devendra Bishoo with bowling figures of 51-10-177-4.
2nd Innings.
West Indies started of well. They played well and saw off the new ball. They player proper shots and played the bowlers well. They did not play risky shots and so did not loose many wickets. They need to just see off the last day and bat well to have a drawn match again.
The pick of their batsmen was Kraigg Braithwaite. He scored 101*(230) balls with 11 boundaries to his name.
England bowlers did bowl well but were not able to get many wickets. They were not able to get the batmen edging the ball.
The pick of their bowlers was James Anderson with bowling figures of 14-4-27-1.
