Sri Lanka vs Scotland post match


Sri Lanka and Scotland was a one sided match for the Lankans. Both the teams played well but at the end of the day Sri Lanka came out as the winners. It was a match where record was broken by a talented player like Kumar Sangakara.

1st Innings.

It was the Lankans who batted first. They lost an early wicket. But then it was again the pair of Dilshan and Sangakara who rescued the team. They both had a 200 runs partnership. Dilshan scored a 2nd century in the World Cup. The great Sangakara scored his 4th consecutive century in history of ODI cricket and the World Cups. He broke all the records. He has been the first ever batsman to do so. They posted a big target of 364 runs. They could have gone to make a 400 but they lost many wickets at the end due to some superb bowling from Scotland. They did bowl well. There weren't many extras. The pick of their bowlers was Josh Davey with the bowling figures of 8-0-63-3.

2nd Innings

Scotland did not get a great start. They also lost an early wicket. Then they had a stable partnership but then lost two quick wickets. The Lankans bowled well. They did not give away many extras and runs. They fielded well. They bowled superbly. They Scotland team couldn't score runs easily and in order to up the anty the lost wickets and got bowled out for a mere 215 runs. The pick of the Sri Lankan bowlers was Nuwan Kulasekara with excellent bowling figures of 7-0-20-3. They deserved the win.
