After the 1st semi final it was the Kiwi power who won the semi finals and qualified for the finals of the ICC CWC 2015. It was shocking defeat for the South Africans but they played very well in the tournament as much as they played. They did win the World Cup but won millions of hearts for the World Cup.
The South African played well enough for the semi finals giving a tough score of 298 to be chased in 43 overs. Hashim Amla & Quiton De kock tried to build up the innings in the start of the match only but both of them were departed early in the bowling of Trent Boult. Faf du Plessies who came in at 3 made a very well 82 which gave a boost to the score along with Ab de Velliers the captain & David Miller ( Killer Miller ) who boosted their score very well. They tried to make every possible thing. In the 38th over rain started and the play was delayed and over were reduced to 43 overs. They managed to make 281 but due to the d/l method the score was 298 to win for the kiwi's. It was a shocking defeat for the South Africans but it's a game one have to lose and the other have to win no one can predict.
The Kiwi's played extremely well with their delightful innings and also in the bowling. They were smashed up in the death overs but it was Corey Anderson who took wickets at proper time & also Trent Boult who took early wickets of the South Africa team. In the batting they were very impressive with the captain playing aggressive and led a good game. They lost 4 wickets one after another but then Grant Elliot carefully played and won the match for the Kiwi's. With this win the Kiwi's registered their place in the World Cup finals.
