The Srilankan team were impressive in the batting as their both openers made through a nice 50. Thirimane was departed after his 50 immediately. But then Kumar Sangakara came in and batted like a demon along with Tilatkarne Dilshan. He broke his highest score record also previously 160 now 161. Sangakara made his century again in his 400th match of his ODI career. In the bowling Lasith Malinga was impressive enough as he took 3 wickets in his spell of 9 overs. Dilshan & Lakmal both took 2 2 wickets. But in the fielding there were many simple catches dropped. Overall they played well and have a good chance for the quarters and semi's
The Bangladeshi team was not good from the start itself. They dropped some of the important catches of the Srilankan players. They were lacking the confidence in the feild. Due to that they helped Srilankans to score 333 against them for a loss of single wicket. They were sucessful in taking the wicket of Srilankan opener Thirimane. They were not at a very good level in batting also but some of the player played extremely well like Shakib, Rahim, Sarkar & Rehman. Overall a bad performance from the bangladesh team. So they will need to improve for the next game.
