Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan- Preview

The 12th match of ICC's main event 2015 is against Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. This match is at University Oval, Dunedin at 3:30 IST. In the previous game at Dunedin it seemed it was helpful for the seamers. The short boundaries will also aid the big hitters.

The Sri Lankan team have a little poor batting line up for the squad. They also have the worst strike rate amongst the 8 main team in WC. The Lankans Trio of Sangakara, Jayawardene and Dilshan have a great experience and also have played  2 to 3 World Cups. The Sri Lankan team mainly depends on their bowling strength. But after having a glance at their firdt match there is a lack ness in their bowling strength. For instance their key player Lasith Malinga gave 84 runs in 10 overs without aqcuring any wicket.  The all rounder Angelo Mathews, the skipper of Sri Lankan team may play a key role in batting as well as bowling. Jevan Mendis and Nuwan Kulasekera will equally contribute in their strength of bowling.

On the other side Afghanistan played very well with making up 250+ score against defending Champion in Warm Up match which has increased the confidence. The team has the good bowling line up which can lead their side because the Sri Lanka has bit weak batting line up. After missing out in 2011, Afghanistan are ready for their debut on a big stage.  Mohammed Nabi, the skipper of Afghanistan is a experience batsman and also a good player. So can expect a good play from him in WC. Samiullah Shenwari can play a key role in the force to pace up the score. Nawroz Mangal is one of the most experience batsman in top order.
