AB De Villiers in a match against West Indies
After Rohit Sharma of India breaking the world record in an ODI of 264 runs, it was now time for AB De Villiers to do somethin special.
On this day i.e. 18th January, 2015 two world records were by AB De Villiers that too in a ODI match against West Indies.
You must be thinking that breaking records would be upon players like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni or even may be Christopher Gayle, but this time it was different, it was AB De Villiers.
He broke 2 records in the match:-
1) Fastest 50- World Record
2) Fastest 100- World Record
The third World Record he was on the verge of breaking was of 16 sixes in an innings. But then he levelled himself with Rohit Sharma so we can't say the record was broken.
I was also watching the match and was amazed looking at his batting.
The First 40 overs were like it would be a good match with Hashim Amla and Rilee Rossouw both scoring 100's.But after the first wicket, when Ab De Villiers came to bat, the things had changed.
The match turned itself to an extraordinary match.!
First was, AB De Villiers smashed West Indian bowlers for the fastest 50 in the world in just 16 balls. (Previous Best- Sanath Jayasuriya of 17 balls). Imagine, the people who would be looking at this type of batting would just have fainted.

Then, AB de Villiers blasted a 31-ball hundred to break the world record for the fastest century in One-Day Internationals in the second match against West Indies at the Wanderers, in Johannesburg, on Sunday.
AB De Villiers raises his bat after scoring the 50
De Villiers’ hundred included 8 boundaries and 10 sixes.
The South African broke the record of New Zealand batsman Corey Anderson who held the record for the fastest hundred scoring it off 36 balls against West Indies last year.
AB De Villiers was on the verge of creating one more World Record of fastest 150.
He scored 149 of 44 balls. Amazing!!
He got out on the last ball to Andre Russell, and if he would have run 1 on that ball, one more record would be broken. Unfortunately, he got out.Remarkable innings by a Champion player. This has to be the GREATEST ODI innings without a SHADOW of Doubt. Take a bow you beauty.
