Athletico Madrid Vs Granada CF
Primera Division bottom side Granada travel to the Spanish capital to face Atletico Madrid on Sunday, but will do so without manager Joaquin Caparros.
Wednesday's 4-0 Copa del Rey defeat at Sevilla proved to be the final straw for the Granada board, which sacked Caparros on Friday afternoon and placed assistant coach Joseba Aguado in temporary charge.
The match between Athletico Madrid and Granada will be on this Sunday at 17 00 hours CET(21 30 hours IST) at Athletico's home ground Vicente Calderon.
Athletico Madrid will be aiming for a win to regain their 3rd position which was take up by Valencia.
While it cannot get much worse for Granada, Atleti are riding high after knocking city rivals and holders Real out of the Copa del Rey on Thursday.
Their progression was made all the more sweeter by the fact that Fernando Torres scored both of their goals in the 2-2 second-leg draw, which set up a quarter-final tie against Barcelona.
Torres struck in the first minute of each half against Carlo Ancelotti's men to register his first goals since he returned to the Vicente Calderon after an eight-year absence.
Diego Simeone's side go into Sunday's home encounter in third place, trailing league leaders Real by four points and second-placed Barcelona, who beat them 3-1 in their last La Liga game, by three.
Athletico Madrid's new striker, Fernando Torres would be looking to enhance his form, which he already did by scoring a brace against Liga giant's Real Madrid in the Round of 16 Of the Copa Del Rey.
