Newcastle United winger Rolando Aarons is staying at St.James' Park - confirmed manager Steve McClaren with he himself a big fan of his skills.
Aarons had a talk over contract extension at the end of last season as he rose through ranks at St.James' Park but it resulted in high attention from big money clubs viz. Liverpool and Manchester City. The club stated earlier this season that Aarons had 2 Years left to runout on his contract and a talk over new contract is subjected to Aarons performance this year.
Aarons is yet to start a Premier League game at United, but McClaren has made it clear he is staying on Tyneside.
When asked whether Aarons’ future was at United, McClaren said: “Absolutely, without a doubt.
“I want him to mature very quickly because he is the kind of player I like in my team.
“He excites me and he excites the fans.
“He gets people off their seats because he’s got the pace and the power, he wants to work.”
Even Though, McClaren feels that Aarons still has a lot to do before considering himself a regular space in First Team.Aarons suffered with hamstring problems last season and missed a large chunk of the campaign.
McClaren said: “He’s only a young boy.
“He’s got to learn a lot and we are demanding a lot from him.
“In the end, he will have to be patient and have to wait.
“Sometimes it will feel like one step back, but eventually it will be one step back, then two forward.
“His attitude is great and the key thing is he is staying fit.
“He’s training every day and he’s got great potential.”
Aarons has made Five appearances for the club as Substitute in Premier League and Three starts in Capital One Cup, scoring two goals for The Magpies so far.
