Charlie Austin was wanted by bunches of Premier League clubs viz. West Brom,Crystal Palace,Manchester United,Chelsea,Leicester City ,. but instead decided to spend another year at Second-Tier and gain some experience to make a big move as a free agent next summer.
"I'm not disappointed, the 26-year-old said in a reveal-all interview. "It's a decision I've taken, with my family and agent. If the move happened, it was going to be big but it wasn't something I was going to rush in to. I didn't want the club to be pushed on me.
"I spoke to Les Ferdinand (QPR director of football) and told him if the move was not right then I wasn't going. But I also knew he had to do everything to get the best for QPR. I told him if I was here on September 2, I'd be giving 100 per cent to help the club get promotion. That is the goal now."
Austin isn't concerned about limiting his chances of making the English Euro 2016 squad by staying in the Championship, but insists being focused on making headlines next summer.
"It's a massive move and I want to be at an established Premier League club," he added. "One that is going forward and one that I feel will suit me. I know a lot goes around because of the [4-4-2] way QPR played last year and they will question whether I can play as a one.
"It has come up over the summer so that is another little hurdle you have to negotiate. I just feel that if something comes up and the club is the right one for me to go to, that will be it. The ones that came up this summer were not right for me."
