REPORT : Crystal Palace 1 - 2 Arsenal

The Gunners secure their First Win of The EPL this Season after some athletic strike from Giroud and a Damien Delaney own goal granted them all three points against London rivals Crystal Palace.Arsene Wenger will hope that the proceeding are back to normal as Gunners are back to winning ways.

Arsene Wenger's side took the lead after 16 minutes when Oliver Giroud diverted a Mesut Ozil cross beyond the reach of Alex McCarthy, but Palace hit back minutes later through Joel Ward, whose close-range finish left Petr Cech with no chance.

Alexis Sánchez, restored after his exertions at the Copa America, all revelled here to go some way towards exorcising the nightmarish memories of the previous Sunday’s defeat. This was a start, a win to prompt relief in the visitors’ dugout at the final whistle. Both teams will take encouragement from their performance but for Arsenal all that really mattered were points.

Arsenal kissed the winning goal just after 10 minutes into the second half when Delaney suffered the ignominy of firing the ball past his own goalkeeper and held on to pick up three points.

Arsenal goalscorer Olivier Giroud has been talking about how important it was for the Gunners to get a positive result today.

We needed these three points from when we lost to West Ham, we needed to bounce back.We could have killed the game before.For a striker it’s always nice to score, early in the game, and then you can play with freedom and take more risks.I felt really good in the game and that is nice for the future.
