Chris Rogers confirms retirement

The Australian oldest cricketer (currently after Steve Waugh ) as well as the opener of the team is going to retire after the 5th & the last test match in the Ashes which is to be
played at Oval.

Chris Rogers is the most consistent batsmen for the team in the full season till now for the Australian team. He have scored 437 runs in the 4 test matches in the Ashes with an average of 62.42. He was unsure about his retirement till the start of the Ashes due to injuries and reasons. But on 18th August he discussed with Darren Lehmann about the retirement and announced it.

As he got several hits on the head during the First class career as well as in the test at Lords he tried to call the retirement. So these are injuries for which you are never 100% sure.

He is 28 runs short for completing 2000 runs mark.  He has registered 5 test tons and also 14 half centuries in his career till now.
