Singapore XI vs Arsenal : Report


Arsenal got off to a winning start to their Pre-Season campaign with a 4-0 win over Singapore XI in Barclays Asia Trophy.

Wenger opted to rest 10 of 27 man travelling to Singapore,naming the 15 Men who got the most of the fitness in Training for the Upcoming Season,with Star signing Cech waiting for his debut after impressing with a quick double-save in the training prior to the fixture.

Chuba Akpom scored a hat-trick as Arsenal progressed to the Barclays Asia Trophy final which will be held this Saturday. The 19-year-old, who is yet to score a competitive goal for the Gunners, put the tourists ahead on 30 minutes with a low finish from 12 yards before slotting home a penalty in the second half.Hector Bellerin set up a brilliant cross which Akpom headed in for his third.

Jack Wilshere doubled the lead from the penalty spot on the hour mark.

Arsenal got a plenty to take from this fixture as Wenger will be impressed from the show put on by a Young Arsenal Line-Up with C.Akpom and Alex Iwobi impressing the most.

Arsenal will now play Everton in the final on Saturday after the Toffees saw off Stoke 5-4 on penalties following a goalless draw earlier on Wednesday in the same stadium. Singapore Select XI will play Stoke in the third-place play-off on the same day.
