Mephis is delighted to have joined The Old Trafford side and had a talk with PSV TV,here we present what he said :
So, it’s confirmed there is an agreement with PSV and Manchester United…
It's fantastic! A dream come true. It's a very big step to a very big competition.
You received applause and good wishes from your team-mates in training. Did that make you feel happy?
Yes, it did. When all the players come to you and wish you good luck, that says it all about this last season.
Was it easier for you to choose a club where you know the coach, Louis van Gaal?
Yes, that feeling was good, I know the trainer very well. We have a good relationship. It was a little difficult with all the speculation about my future, but now I've chosen to sign for Manchester United and my dream came true. It shows that I've grown up as a player.
There are just two games left with PSV. Will those games feel special?
Yes, they will. I passed through PSV’s youth system, I’ve been here since I was 12. I worked hard for it. I encountered many difficulties to reach this point: blood, sweat and tears, ups and downs. But it all resulted in something beautiful. I've grown up as a player and a person. So it will be very emotional for me in these last two matches.
It was your own choice to stay at PSV last season and you gave everything to win the league title with the club...
Last year was great for me. Third place at the World Cup with the Dutch national team and finally the league title with PSV. It was great. Maybe we can break a record with the team and maybe I can be the [league's] top scorer. I will give everything in my last two games for PSV and I will enjoy it.
