ICC has been holding meetings for new rules. The main topic to be held was to provide some respite to the bowlers after the new rules which was very bad on the bowlers and also during the world cup.
Key Suggestions for new Rules:-
1) Remove batting powerplay in ODIs:- Bowlers have suffered a lot due to the current rules. They have been taken for runs in every match and also that 300 has become a trend. The score is reached easily. It would be a big score before the current rules was applied.
2) Allow 5 fielders outside circle between overs 41-50:- It was harsh to the bowlers in the end overs where the batsmen go for all the balls to score well. They would be settled and would hit shots easily.
3) Free hits for all no-balls, not only front foot calls:- Before only the front foot no balls were given free hits but now if they finalise the rule all the no balls will be given as free hits. May it be for height & full toss above waist height.
4) Remove restrictions on 2 compulsory catchers in first 10 overs:- The restriction for this might be taken off so that the field can be put according he the bowlers wish.
5) No restriction on size of bats:- There was a debate about the huge size of bats that batsmen use as a disadvantage to the bowlers. Warner who uses a huge lump of bat. Many other have that. But there is no restriction on the size.
6) Boundaries to be set at maximum size at each venue:- Boundaries at all venues would be extended to the max as some respite to the bowlers.
7) Balls manufacturers to find more possibilities regarding size and durability of white ball seam in order to see the imbalance between bat and ball:- Due to the big size and huge lump of bats the ball makers are asked to make good white balls to make the imbalance of bat and ball away.
8) No 4 days Test match but a strong recommendation to member countries to extend Tests into evening hours:- There won't be any 4 day test matches and would ask the member countries to have more evening hour matches.
