They day was interrupted by rain gods. Both the team were ready for a good match.
Day 1
1st Innings :
New Zealand came out to bat first. They were rocked early as they lost two early wickets. They were under tremendous pressure. They tried to build a partnership. They did get one but was soon broken. There were no big partnerships. Many if them got starts but could not convert it into a big hundred. They kept loosing wickets at regular intervals and are in a bad condition.
The pick of their batsmen was Luke Ronchi who scored 88(70) balls with 13 boundaries and 3 sixes to his name.
England bowlers were superb on the day. They bowled superb line and length and got the wickets. They did leak some runs but also kept getting the wickets.
The pick of their bowlers was Stuart Broad with bowling figures of 14-0-83-3.
