Bangladesh vs Pakistan Test Match 1:Report


After the end of Day 3 it looked as if Pakistan were clear favourites to win the game. But Bangladesh showed that they wouldn't give up easily. The Bangladesh batsmen were just superb in the 2nd innings.

1st Innings :

Bangladesh batted first. They did not bat well. They all got starts but the they lacked in conversion. They couldn't convert the starts into a big one. They lacked in this and so couldn't get a big score on the board. They were in good position but couldn't convert starts into big ones.
The pick of their batsmen was Mominul Haque who scored 80(162) balls with 8 boundaries to his name.

Pakistan bowlers did bowl well. They did allow the batsmen to settle but later got them out as well. They bowled good line and lengths and so did not allow them to settle.
The pick of their bowlers was Wahab Riaz with bowling figures of 26-7-55-3.

Pakistan came out to bat. They got a good start but the debutant couldn't do that well. They got many good partnerships and many others got starts but couldn't convert it into a big one. But Hafeez went on the make a real big innings. He was just superb in his approach. He was unstoppable. He scored his double century and was a good milestone for him.
The pick of their batsmen was Mohammad Hafeez who scored 224(332) balls with 23 boundaries and 3 sixes to his name.

Bangladesh did not bowl that well at the top. They were not that good at the top but came back well. They bowled well at the back and got their wickets very early. They then did not allow the Pakistan batsmen to make more runs.
The pick of their bowlers was Taijul Islam with bowling figures of 46.4-4-163-6.
At the end of the innings Pakistan had a big lead of 296 runs.

2nd Innings :
Bangladesh batsmen were in great pressure after a bad 1st innings performance. They needed some magic to save the match. They were provided with one. The openers provided the team a triple century partnership stand and both of them scored 150 each until the partnership broke. Tamim Iqbal was just brilliant as he went on to make his maiden double century. Many records were broken during this innings. He was just superb and played exceptionally well.
The pick of their batsmen was Tamim Iqbal who scored 206(278) balls with 17 boundaries and 7 sixes to his name.

Pakistan bowlers did not bowl well at the start and allowed the batsmen to settle and did not put any pressure on them. They did not bowl good line and length to get them all out and so they couldn't win the match.
The pick of their bowlers was Mohammad Hafeez with bowling figures of 20-0-82-2.

The match ended in a Draw.
