Ricky Pointing the former Australian player and captain is now the coach of Mumbai Indians team. He played in 2013 bit dropped himself due to bad form and then became a mentor in 2014.
Pointing praises Rohit Sharma for his captaincy. In a recent press conference which he and Rohit attended he said that he hasn't seen captaincy change a players career. He saw Rohit having and experiencing his change. When he was the captain and dropped himself from the team due to bad form and held over the captaincy for the rest of the tournament. The explained how Rohit took the responsibility and took the team to the IPL crown. He said that Rohit got the best out of him during captaincy and got his form back. This made him earn his spot back in the Indian team and then rest is history.
He praised Rohit of how he planned before every match and also the way he approached the players and get them back into form and support them.
He also said that captaincy made him bat well and this made him a better captain and also got the team to winning ways. He also explained the way he planned and played his innings.
He told about the way he made the bowling changes and field placing and the shots he played during batting. Pointing has supported him well during this stage
