They won the IPL trophy in the year 2012 & 2014 respectively under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir. In the season 8 they again have Gautam Gambhir as their leader to lead the team. They have players like Gautam Gambhir, Sunil Narine, Robin Uthappa, Shakib-Al-Hassan and many more players in their squad. Robin Uthappa was the highest run scorer & the orange cap holder as well, so it will be good to see his knock again for the team. They have to face against Mumbai Indians in the opening match on 8th April 2015 in their home ground of Eden Garden.

They have won appeared twice in the finals but they won a single IPL trophy in the year 2013 under the captaincy of Harbhajan Singh. They have currently many experienced players in the IPL 8 . They have Rohit Sharma as their experienced captain for this season as well. Their squad have quality players like Aaron Finch , Lendl Simmons, Corey Anderson, Aditya Tare and many. They are going to face against the Kolkata Knight Riders on 8th April 2015 in the first match as well as the opening match in Eden Garden, Kolkata.
