England vs West Indies Test match 1 Post Match

    England Vs West Indies 1st Test match has come to an end. The match has ended in a draw and it is the perfect result as both the teams played some extremely superb cricket for the last 5 days and the result is a very good for both the teams. No team deserved a loss. In the end a draw is a perfect result.

1st Innings.
   England batted first and started well. They might have lost their openers early but recovered well. They went on to post a big score of 399 in the first innings.
The pick of their batsmen was Ian Bell with a superb century to his name. He scored 143(256) balls with 20 boundaries and 1 six to his name. His sensational innings took the team total to 399.

    West Indies bowlers were at their best in the 1st innings. They bowled exceptionally well to get the England team under pressure and did not release it easily. They took wickets at regular intervals and did not allow England to score a lot of runs and be on top in the 1st innings.

   They pick of their bowlers in the 1st Innings was Kemar Roach with bowling figures of 29-6-94-4.

   West Indies started their first innings batting with not a good start. They lost their 4 wickets early. But then it was Chanderpaul and Blackwood who stitched a superb partnership and got their team back into the game. Chanderpaul got out but Blackwood kept on playing. They got all out on 295 and England team now had a first innings lead of 104 runs. The pick of the West Indies batsmen was Jermaine Blackwood. He scored a good century and scored 112(220) balls with 14 boundaries and 2 sixes to his name.
England bowled well. They got many early wickets and did not give away many runs. They did not let the batsmen settle.

   The pick of their bowlers was James Tredwell with bowling figures of 26-12-47-4.

2nd Innings.

    England had a lead of 104 runs with them and they needed to play well and score easily and post a big total. They again lost early wickets but then Gary Ballance, Joe Root, Ben Stokes & Jos Butler played well. They took the team total to 333 runs and posted a big target of 438 to the West Indies.
 
   The pick of their batsmen was Gary Ballance for his century. He scored 122(250) balls with 11 boundaries and 2 sixes to his name.

   West Indies again bowled well and took early wicket and also let the pressure build on the England bowlers.

    The pick of their bowlers was Jerome Taylor with bowling figures of 14-5-42-2.
West Indies had a big task in front of them as they had to score 438 runs to win the match. It was a very difficult target to chase down. They did start well but on the last day they lost 3 early wickets and were under pressure. They might have thought that they might loose the match but Ramdin and Holder played well. In the end they were able to  draw the match.

   The pick of their batsmen was Jason Holder who scored his maiden Test century. He scored 103*(149) balls with 15 boundaries to his name.
England bowlers again bowled well and got the wickets. Anderson bowled superbly and got the early wickets for his team.
Pick of their bowlers was Joe Root with bowling figures of 13-6-22-2.
