England were at the top when they ended the day 2. Thy were in a great position and were looking rock solid with their opening partnership.
1st Innings.
England had a good opening stand. Their captain finally scored runs after a dry patch. This gave the team a good start. They began well. Cook and Trot both hit half centuries and gave the team a good start. They played well and sensibly. They bot got back to form. Then after they were out. The team lost wickets at continuous intervals. Ballance came and hit a nice half century but Bell and Ali got out early. Joe Root as always came to the party to save the team. He played superbly and this young talent has the knack of playing good knocks at pressure situations. He played superbly.
He kept loosing partners at the other end but it was good to see he played sensibly and nice.
Joe Root was the pick of the batsmen as he made a sensational knock of 118*(165) balls with 13 boundaries and 2 sixes to his name.
West Indies did bowl well. They might have allowed England to not be in pressure but have got wickets.
The pick of their bowlers was Shannon Gabriel with bowling figures of 19-3-60-2.
