The match between Chennai Super Kings & Kolkata Knight Riders ended with the Chennai winning the match with 2 runs. It was again a close win for the Super Kings
In the batting the openers started well as always in the powerplay. In the 5th over McCullum lost his wicket. Later Smith and Suresh Raina played to some time. But later 1 after another wickets started to fall down. In the meantime Faf du Plessies tried to be on crease and play well for the team. He scored 29 runs. For the team 132 was very low target. So in order to win the match they had to bowl well. They didn't have a good start in first 5 overs. But in the 6th over of the match of Ravi Ashwin they got a good wicket of Robin Uthappa. Ravindra Jadeja did well in the bowling as well, being economic. As it was a spinning pitch Ms Dhoni introduced the part time spinner Suresh Raina as well who proved to be economical in his 3 overs. Feilding was exceptional for the team. There were several good catches and good fielding which restricted the score. Overall a good performance in the bowling and fielding unit.
The Kolkata Knight Riders were very good in the bowling. They bowled so well that in every regular interval they got wickets of the Chennai team. Their best bowlers was Piyush Chawla & Andre Russel who took 2 wickets in 4 overs conceding 26 runs each. The spinners were very economical in the bowling. The battng was superb in the start with Robin Uttahpa. Ryan Ten Doeschate started very slow but later had accelerated the hitting level to a very good one. The other batsmen didn't play well accordingly as per their performance in last matches. They were good at start but later they were not that. The lack of contribuition in runs from the batsmen resulted in the loss against the Chennai Super Kings.
The man of the match was Dwayne Bravo for his brilliant catches, fielding and wickets.
