The Srilankan team won the match against England with 9 wickets chasing a target of 307.

The Srilankan bowlers did well in the bowling death overs. They were very expensive in the mandatory powerplay as well as the batting powerplay, but then it were the bowlers who bowled extremely well in the death overs of the match. They were giving a score  of 308 to chase but they overcomed that score and chased that very effectively. The opener Lahiru Thirimane & Tilatkarane Dilshan were impressive in the start. But in the 19th over of the game Dilshan was departed by the offie Moeen Aali. Then it was Sangakara who came in and batted well with Thirimane. Both this player played so well that they managed themselves with their ton's as well as a win for their nation. Sangakara was playing very agressively over a srike rate of  120. Both this player played a X factor role in their win against the English team.

The English team did well with the start with MOeen Ali & Ian bell. They both started off well in the batting powerplay. But Moeen Ali was dismissed in the last over of the mandatory powerplay. After Moeen Ali, Gary Balance came in but he was dismissed soon in the 13 over. Ian Bell & Joe Root batted well but Bell was back to pavillion with 1 short for his 50. Joe Root played extremely well by scoring a ton, but he was given a short short support from every player, not a full support. With his ton completed he played some good shots and in one of the shot he was dismissed. But it was a full team contribution in achieveing  to set a score of 306. In the bowling they were not much impressive as per their last matches efforts. So Moeen Ali was the only bowler who got succeded in getting a wicket.
