Lana and Rusev heading to the ring for their match with Curtis Axel. As they continue walking they are stopped by Cena. Rusev declared no to the rematch again but Cena says on Rusev’s face that Rusev has the right to free speech but not the right to disrespect America in the ring every week. Cena asserts he has the right to shut Rusev up. And basically says that come hell or high water, he's going to get him tonight.
Rusev vs. Curtis Axel
WWE United States Champion Rusev with Lana makes their way down to the ring. We see Curtis Axel’s, Hulk Hogan style promo shown fron the last week smackdown. Here outs Curtis Axel makes his way to the ring as his Royal Rumble countdown clock is shown on the big screen.
Rusev charge Axel before the bell even rings and beats him down. The match starts and Rusev dominates Axel, quickly hitting the superkick and applying The Accolade for the win.
Winner: Rusev
Rusev celebrates the victory as the Russian flag drops down over the ring. Rusev take the mic and Lana tries to calm him down. Rusev cuts another American promo. John Cena arrives on the stage and dispatch the ring. And they go at it in the middle of the ring. Cena locks Rusev into STF. Lana requested for help at ringside. Rusev passes out in the hold and Cena stands and brings a bottle of water in the ring and puts it on Rusev to wake him up and then again Cena applies the STF again and Rusev starts tapping. Lana takes a mic and pleads Cena to let Rusev go. Lana says they will give Cena a match at WrestleMania and then she adds that it will be for the United States title. Cena gets up with a delirious look on his face and looks at the WrestleMania banner.
