The Pakistan team started of well with the bat with Sarfaraz Ahmed scoring 49 runs. Shehzad tried to make a big score but was dismissed by a poor shot on Kyle Abbott's ball and a brilliant flying catch by Dale Steyn. Younis Khan tried to make a good shot towards the covers but was caught out in the bowling of AB de Villiers. Misbah Ul Haq again played to his brilliant 50 along with Umar Akmal, Sohaib Maqsood giving a short short stand to the player. They were bowled out for 222 in 46.4 overs. But in the bowling Mohammed Irfan was the one who striked with the new ball & took the wicket of Quinton De Kock. They were hammered by by Amla & Du Plessies. But Du Plessies was dismissed in the 10th over by Rahat Ali followed by Hashim Alma caught behind the stumps in the bowling of Wahab Riaz in the next over. Wickets were taken again in quick session by Riaz, Irfan & Rahat Ali. Rahat Ali took 3 wickets for 40 runs. Wahab Riaz, Mohammed Irfan too took 3-3 wickets each. Overall it was a very good game by the Pakistan team.
The South African team tried to take early wickets of the Pakistani batsmen, but they were not so impressive. They took some wickets during the right time to weaken the innings. They took possible wickets and restriced the score till 222. They were very relieved to have a low score as compared to the scores in the tounament.Dale Steyn was with the best figure for the South Africans innings in the match with 3 wickets for 30 runs in 10 overs . They lost a very early wicket of Quinton De Kock in the first over itself. Amla & Du Plessies played well but both lost their wickets one after another. After them Rilee Russow, Miller & Duminy lost their wickets without making an impact on the score. They lost every one one by one. Dale Steyn tried to play well by some great shots with ABD, but couldnt make an impact later. ABD was hitting strong from one side but later gave a simple catch to Sarfaraz Ahmed behind the stumps. After his wicket it was a sure win for the Pakistan team.
The Man of the Match of the game was Sarfaraz Ahmed for his 49 runs & 5 brilliant catch behind the stumps.
