Orlando City SC vs Houston Dynamo- Postmatch


A games second half made the most of his short time on field to gain  Orlando City SC's first ever win against the Houston Dynamo in MLS. Tyler Geric own goal that gave Orlando City their first win in MLS. By taking 1-0 win against Huston Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium.

Line ups:-

Houston Dynamo:- Tyler Deric, Kofi Sarkodie, David Horst, Jermaine Taylor, DaMarcus Beasley, Leonel Miranda, Luis Garrido, Ricardo Clark, Brad Davis, Oscar Garcia, Giles Barnes.

Orlando City SC:- Donovan Ricketts, Rafael Ramos, Sean St Ledger, Seb Hines, Brek Shea, Amobi Okugo, Darwin Ceren, Kevin Molino, Kaka, Lewis Neal, Carios Rivas.

Ribeiro came in 54th minute for starting center forward Carlos Rivas to make his first appearance of season. Orlando City scored in 74th minute when second half substitute Ribeiro put pressure on Houston's goalkeeper and the ball found the net. Deric had the ball at his feet when Ribeiro pounced on him and disposed him in the goal box.


"It happens a lot. I'm a big guy and sometimes when I beat a guy in front of a goal he always tries to pull me down. I'm not a guy who's going to fall down for certain little things, and I'm just going to try to keep playing, especially on a play like that, when I score a goal and get three points. I'm happy for the goal and happy for the first win for the Orlando City in the MLS." Ribeiro said

Houston made two changes in their lineup from their opening day win last week. Also Orlando City had two changes to the starting XI.

Rivas and Kaka combined for the first real chance of the first-half in the 15th minute when Rivas received the pass from 40 yards out before turning and curling a dangerous chance over Deric's left post. After a first half, with only a save from Deric on a free kick by Kaka near the end of the half. The game picked up in second half. Both teams started to move ball at more speed and take more chances bringing more action and some mistakes to pump life into the game.

Tyler Deric would get the better of Kaka for the second time in 65th minute when Kaka chipped over a sliding David Horst to get himself a clear look in close on Deric. Deric sprung off his line and shut the chance down before the Brazilian could change the game.

After Deric's own goal in 74th minute when he took a heavy touch on a Houston back pass, calling on him to scramblr and try and clear the ball. Giles came closest to an ordnance in 87th minute. The English forward made a run near post on a Davis corner kick but the header was far from the target. It shows of a though night in attack where Houston failed to generate a shot on goal.

Eric Avila made his debut in Orlando City in the 81st minute, subbing on for Kaka.

Houston will face the defending champion LA Galaxy next week and Orlando City return home to host the Vancouver Whitecaps.
