Sri Lanka vs New Zealand--PostMatch


ICC World Cup 2015 1st match of Pool A was against Sri Lanka and New Zealand. This match was at Christchurch, New Zealand at 3:30 IST
The squad of New Zealand for this match:- Brendon Mccullum (c), Trent Boult, Grant Elliot, Martin Guptil, Adam Milne, Daniel Vettori, Kane Williamson, Corey Anderson,Tim Southee, Luke Ronchi (wk) and Ross Taylor.
Sri Lankan squad:-Angelo Mathews(c), Kumar Sangakara(wk), Tillakaratne Dilshan, Mahela Jayawerdene, Lahiru Thirimane(vc), Dimuth Karunaratne, Lasith Malinga, Jeevan Mendis, Suranga Lakmal, Nuwan Kulasekara and Rangana Herath.
Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bowl first. New Zealand won against Sri Lanka by 98 runs. New Zealand innings had commenced with a nice start. New Zealand players Brendon Mccullum and Martin Guptil had a awesome partnership of 111runs. The skipper of the team played a contribute able innings of of 65 runs in just  49 balls and lead New Zealand innings to have a good start in small span of overs accompanied by Martin Guptil and Kane Williamson. But after losing couple of wickets, it was lastly Corey Anderson who made a quarter century only in 46 balls. Which greatly contributed to the score of the squad and gave the target of 332 runs and other players also contributed to give a good total. 
Sri Lankan bowlers were not in good form. There were great expectations from Malinga but Lasith Malinga bowling was quite not so good. Sri Lanka had an good start with their bat by their openers. Lahiru Thirimane had played an good inning by scoring by scoring 65 runs in 60 balls. But after the fall of their wickets the middle order couldn't control the existing situation and the wickets were keep on  falling down. The whole squad was aside by the New Zealand bowlers at a score of 233 runs in 46.1 overs. New Zealand bowlers had done the wonderful job leading their side to a awesome victory
