Indian Cricket Teams Coach Duncan Fletcher on Thursday departed for South Africa to attend funeral of his Father-In-Law and will miss Dhoni and Co. playing against UAE on Saturday for their World Cup fixtures.
"Duncan today left for Cape Town after receiving the news of the death of his father-in-law. He wont be available for the UAE game as he has funereal to attend. But he is expected to be back before India's next match against the West Indies on March 6," media manager Dr RN Baba confirmed.
Till the unavailability of Fletcher Ravi Shastri overseas the tactical parts whereas assistant coaches Bharat Arjun, R Sridar and Sanjay Bangar will handle the training sessions.
It is learnt that the team had a short training session at the WCA on Wednesday. The team played a bit football too where Mohammed Shami was the goalkeeper.
