They played their last ODI match / series in the Jan of 2015, tri series between Australia England & India but won none of the 4 matches played. They have a good experience on the Australian Pitches as they have been in Australia for a test series since Dec 2014. So they have tested well on the pitches. But its Australian pitches no 1 can judge the pitch at a particular moment as it keep on fluctuating. They are well-known for limited over format cricket.
Strength :-
The Indians have a superb batting line up starting from Shikhar Dhawan & Rohit Sharma in the opening and carried on by Virat Kohli, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni , Axar Patel, Jadeja and so on. Every player in the team have a experience of the game. Suresh Raina who is the best player in the limited overs format have a lot of support along with Virat Kohli the highest run scorer of India in the past few years. Both this players have tremendous ability to win this WC. It is said now that if Raina Kohli & Dhoni the trio returns back in form they are sure to crown the WC.
Weakness:-
The main & major problem of the Indian Cricket team currently is the bowling. They have quality bowlers in the squad but they aren't in form and also 2-3 are injured. They have 4 injury issues in the squad which can affect badly to the team. The fitness of players are also not quite well. Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar & Ravindra Jadeja are the bowlers who are quite effective but are suffering from different injuries. Hope so this issue is cleared soon. Another issue related to bowling is about the death overs. India currently have a death bowling not quite impressing.
